Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival Review

Our family moved to Lilburn almost 2 years ago, but we are honestly just finding the awesome things around us to go to yearly. Our first fall event this year was the Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival! We all had a wonderful time, but the kids were in awe of all of the amazingness that they saw. We arrived around 6pm knowing that there would be many things to participate in. The crowds were not bad at all, but there were a lot of people around. The first the we did was hop in line to get our bracelets. We are mountain members and are still learning the ins and outs of what is included. This was included and a ton of other events throughout the year, making it more than worth the money if you plan on even coming a couple of times throughout the year.

The main entrance area to that part of the park was amazing. There were pumpkins everywhere! They have around 40 different story book themed pumpkin scenes throughout the park that are really fun to look at. The

Little Mermaid was definitely a personal favorite for our family. The kids are old enough to walk with us, but we knew it would be crowded so we opted to use our umbrella strollers, and this worked really well.

We walked around to see the many scenes that were set up and only got brighter as the sun went down. We decided to grab some dinner at the marketplace. I had a cheeseburger and the kids split a hotdog. Hannah had a bag of smartpop and water and opted to stop at Chick-fil-a on the way home which better fits into her food plan. The food was pretty good.

We then ventured over to the glow toys area and let the kids pick out one thing. Charlie chose a sword and Sammie chose a ghost wand. We ended up really enjoying having these for them to run around and play with during the drone/light show. We headed over to the lawn and easily found a spot near the open walkway. Our son has some sensory issues with loud noises, but with being able to run around and all of the lights and distractions he was absolutely fine and did not have any problems at all. We all loved the drone show and light show. It was long enough to really enjoy, but short enough for the kids to not get bored with it. In the middle of the lawn there was a giant tower of pumpkins with lit up faces that were animated that were fun to look at.

After the show we headed over to my son’s favorite part of the park, the indoor dino play area. There are slides and air-controlled balls that pop all over the place. was pretty late so we headed out, but there are a few things we plan on seeing when we return. Next time we plan on going to the outdoor Halloween glowing dinosaur area and watch the Halloween parade. Our family gives this adventure a 10/10 for fun and excitement.
